What we believe

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe that the sixty-six books (both Old and New Testaments) of the Holy Bible, to be the Word of God, fully inspired and without error. The Holy Bible is the final and supreme authority for all we believe and how we are to live (in all the matters of faith and conduct). It is our source of revelation of God, the knowledge of salvation, the origin of all things and of the hereafter.

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe there is one living and true God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), infinitely perfect and eternal in existence and equal in Glory, Majesty and Power. God is infinite in love, most perfect in judgements, and unchanging in mercy and righteousness.

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe the Heavenly Father is the source of all that exists, whether of matter or spirit. He made man, male and female, in His image. By intention He relates to people as Father, thereby forever declaring His goodwill toward them. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His Mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning. (Psalm 68:5; Isaiah 64:8; Matthew 5:45; 7:11; John 3:17; Romans 8:15; 1 Peter 1:17, Lamentations 3:21-23)

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% man. Jesus Christ is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life while being on earth. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days after He was crucified according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory 
(John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; I Timothy 2:5).

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe in The Holy Spirit, fully divine, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, and sanctifies, forever indwells, and graciously equips all believers for godly living, service and all truth. The Holy Spirit desires to fill, empower, and anoint believers for ministry and witness. We also believe that signs and wonders, as well as all the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament, are operative today and are designed to testify to the presence of the kingdom and to empower and edify the Church to fulfill its calling and mission. We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe that the Gospel is the central & powerful truth of The Bible, the foundation of our faith, and the fuel for the life of all the believers. The gospel is the good news that while we were dead in our sin, God sent his son Jesus to live a perfect life on our behalf, to die a substitutionary death to pay the penalty for our sin, and rise again from the grave to offer us new life in His Spirit. We believe that Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone. No ordinance, ritual, work or any activity by anyone is requires or accepted for his salvation. This saving grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, also sanctifies us by enabling us to do what is pleasing in God’s sight, that we might be progressively conformed to the image of Christ. We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe that the Church is Body of Christ and God’s primary instrument, through which He is fulfilling His redemptive purposes on the earth. To equip the saints for the work of ministry in this world, God has given the Church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. We also affirm the priesthood of all believers and the importance of every Christian being joined with and actively involved in a local community of the saints. We believe that women, no less than men, are called and gifted to proclaim the gospel and do all the works of the kingdom.

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe that there are two ordinances that Jesus Christ commanded the church to observe until the time of Christ's resturn. The two ordinances are Water Baptism and the Communion (Lord's Table) which reminds us of our relationship with Him and the greatest sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. These ordinances are not a means of salvation, but are channels of God's sanctifying grace, mercy and blessing to the faithful in Christ Jesus.

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe that all who believe in Christ Jesus are children of one Heavenly Father. While the world differentiates the Christian believers through different denominations, we believe that our community is open to all and we teach the Bible and get everyone to grow in the mindset of Christ. We follow the principles set in the Acts of the Apostles - 'Preach the Gospel, Raise Disciples, Train Leaders and Release them for Harvest'. 

We believe in the great experience of Pentecost (The Upper Room experience by the Apostles) and also experience the Power of the Spirit of Pentecost, but we do not consider ourselves as just mere pentecostals by name or denomination. Pentecost is an experience, and not to be just cornered to be a denomination as made by men.

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe that a believer of Christ Jesus should consider the fruits and the gifts of the Holy Spirit like the two wings of a Bird. In the Word of God, the Holy Spirit is mostly symbolized by a Dove. A Dove is gentle bird and has two wings, of which one wing represents the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit and the other wing represents the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe that we need to be a balanced christian with equal significance to both fruits and gifts.

Gifts: The Word of Wisdom, The Word of Knowledge, Gift of Faith, Gift of Healings, Gift of Work of Miracles, Gift of Prophecy, Gift of Discerning of Spirits, Gift of Speaking in tongues, Gift of Interpretation of Tongues.

We (Holy Spirit Portal Church) believe in and look forward to the literal second coming of Jesus Christ to gather His people to Himself and to the judge the living and the dead. The Kingdom of God will have no end.
